Fishing in Ontario by RV

Pick the water first, then the campground. 11 fishing regions are covered, from Lake of the Woods to Lake Simcoe and Lake Couchiching.

Regulation links last checked October 2026.

In short. Ontario's fishing is spread across the Canadian Shield lakes of the northwest, the Trent-Severn lakes of the Kawarthas and the shores of Georgian Bay. We map it by fishing area and show the RV campgrounds near each one.

Rules change. Seasons, closures and limits change often and can change mid-season. We link to the official pages rather than repeat them, so check them before every trip.

Licences and rules

  • Fresh water: fishing in Ontario is managed by the Province. Read the Ontario fishing regulations summary and check the fishing zone and any special rules for your lake before you go.
