How to use the directory
- Shortlist, then call. Hookups and dates come from open data and operators, not from our own inspections.
- Match power to your rig. 30 amp suits most travel trailers. Large motorhomes and fifth wheels usually want 50 amp.
- Check the questions list. Each campground page lists what its data leaves open, such as site length or pull-through sites.
- Plan the route too. Pair a campground with one of our RV trips or route guides.
How the directory is built, and where the data comes from
National park campsite counts and coordinates are adapted from the Government of Canada’s Parks Canada Accommodation open dataset.
Some listings are adapted from OpenStreetMap data, © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence (ODbL). We selected, merged and reworded entries, and place names are worked out from coordinates, so they are approximate.
Quebec listings are adapted from Campings, Système d’information touristique Québec (SIT Québec), Ministère du Tourisme du Québec, licensed CC BY 4.0. We changed the data: names were tidied, fields were reworded in English and listings were grouped by tourist region.
